2021.09.16 20:03 BandicootFront8053 Trade school--which course
I think I'm gonna go to a trade school.. Rosedale tech probaly but idk what I wanna take.. First I was gongs get a cdl but idk it's dangerous a lil and idk but I love to drive, then I said ok ill be a welder it's safe and I get to do something that night be more fun for me and put stuff together.. And now I'm thinking electrician mostly cause they get paid more and the need for them is higher and growing. It could also be fun and I wouldn't mind moving to a Ace close to a beach, my girl like beaches, and damn so do I so why not. I think I'm going with electrician but then I see sonograph and a few other medical field ones that pay high and I bet are pretty easy after you learn the basics since your not the doctor or nurse...
I know it up to me and my wants but has anyone gone to a trade school for any of these or anything at all. Was it worth it, do you make a good living and find that that school was all the education you need, to a degree?
Any insight ,on any of this is appreciated

2021.09.16 20:03 Immediate-Ad-7898 Stuck Nozzle
Tried replacing the nozzle on the ender 3 v2 this morning, but it is completely stuck. I have tried removing it while preheated and cooled, but neither option has allowed it to budge. Any tips for removal? I am afraid of shearing the threads in the hot end.

2021.09.16 20:03 chaydayman The Mule: A fresh new chapter for Clint Eastwood's familiar face
Link to video essay (with footage!): https://youtu.be/ScJtWeiDfjc
I made this video essay after noticing something interesting in watching Clint Eastwood’s performance in The Mule. I’ve been rewatching a lot of Eastwood movies over the past month in preparation/excited anticipation of his latest film Cry Macho releasing tomorrow (or tonight for the night owls out there). One of the joys of going through his filmography has been how the constant of him kicking-ass has always held true, regardless of age.
From the early days of the Spaghetti Westerns of Sergio Leone to the more recent forays of introspective dramas like Gran Torino, if someone slights the man, he throws that trademark crinkled-eyed scowl before shooting them down (often literally) and calmly going back to whatever he was doing previously.
But that’s where The Mule is so divergent, because in this film we get those same confrontational moments that we’ve seen time and time again -- where people toy and mess around with his character -- but this time around Eastwood’s reaction to all of that is surprisingly one of resignation and defeat.
In one scene, a meathead goon aggressively talks back after he criticizes him for punching a faulty ice machine while checking his phone. In any other film, even one as “recent” as Gran Torino, one can imagine that Eastwood wouldn’t have taken kindly to such a threat and would’ve put the blowhard in his place. But what does in The Mule is shocking: He pauses for a second, hangs his head in defeat, and solemnly shuffles back to his room.
In another scene towards the end of film the cartel confronts him, threatening to end his life for the drug shipment he failed on delivering because he was caring for his ex-wife on her deathbed. In any other film, the legendary man with no name would’ve shown some grit, some fight... “Do your worst!” at the very least would’ve been a fitting line for the man who’s played stubborn dissident throughout his entire career. But in The Mule he simply resigns himself to his fate. The trademark glare is gone, replaced with sad frailty.
Forgive me if I sound overly sentimental, but one of the draws of watching The Mule is to see Eastwood the man who we’ve grown up with for literal generations come to grips with the fact that he’s not the that guy he once was anymore, that badass renegade who he’s been his entire life... and witnessing his innate understanding of his own aging physical limitations as a human being for really the first time is an incredibly moving thing to experience.
Director Steven Soderbergh once said when discussing the emotional effect of using old film clips of Terrence Stamp in his film The Limey that “In cinema you can follow actors over a long period -- You can really see the accumulation of someone’s life experience”.
And I think that’s what makes The Mule so powerful. Viewed in isolation it’s nothing particularly special, a simple film about an old man who realizes the value of family far too late in his life -- but because we have so many fond memories and have formed an intimate relationship with this man by literally watching him age on screen for decades, Eastwood’s mere appearance makes it impossible to separate this lone performance from the rest. He brings with him the stories of all of his previous films in his eyes, his face, and uses them to create an important new chapter of his life’s work that drastically adds depth and context to what he has already done. And because of that, the impact of seeing The bruiser, the renegade, the vigilante that we grew up with and loved aging into someone who simply can’t and doesn’t want to fight back anymore... hits pretty damn hard -- but what he can still do is move us with an emotional performance and showcase that glint in his eye that shines ever so brightly.
Hope you enjoyed this take on the film and would love to hear what you think about his performance!
